The Essential Link in
Commercial Agricultural Real Estate
At Eslabon Properties, we see ourselves as more than brokers—we're the essential link in the chain that brings buyers and sellers together in complex agricultural real estate transactions. Named after the Spanish word for “link,” Eslabon reflects our role in connecting opportunity with experience and investment with vision.
Specializing in the sale and acquisition of commercial agriculture properties and livestock facilities, our core expertise lies in feedyards, feedlots, and heifer development yards. To our knowledge, we have closed more commercial feedyard transactions than any other brokerage in the United States—a track record built on deep industry knowledge, discretion, and trusted relationships.
Our portfolio extends well beyond feedyards, including large irrigated and dryland farms, ranches, grain storage and elevator facilities, packing plants, and bioenergy projects. With a national footprint and international client base, we've successfully closed deals in ten U.S. states, working independently or in partnership with local professionals, and have represented clients from Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, and Australia.
Whether you're buying, selling, or seeking a turn-key operation, Eslabon Properties stands ready to be your trusted link to agricultural real estate success.

About The Owner
Richard (Dick) Bretz has been involved in large commercial livestock production and other agriculture and agricultural real estate ventures for over 40 years. Dick started his career in Iowa where he farmed, ran cattle, and worked as a licensed commodity broker. But that all changed when he was offered a chance to go to work for the world-renowned King Ranch in South Texas.
Through his ten years at King Ranch, Dick managed a variety of business segments, including the commercial feedyards, cattle purchasing and marketing, the stocker operations, some farming, and the risk-management functions for the cattle and feedyard operations. During his King Ranch tenure Dick met dignitaries and business folks domestically and from numerous countries around the globe. He maintains many of those relationships today.
Dick has served on or chaired several cattle industry boards or committees including Ranchers Renaissance, TCFA, NCA/NCBA, and the Texas Beef Council.
Dick has handled over sixty commercial feedyard transactions, including projects for most of the largest cattle feeding companies, and has done international business in multiple countries.
Dick is a licensed real estate broker in Texas, Colorado, Nebraska, and Kansas and lives in Corpus Christi, TX.
